| Wow, I just realized that it had been two months since I wrote in the Xanga. Worse yet--Grandma had to call Heidi to get an update on me. I started Senioring, meaning that I manage my client's audit. I have one person who is my staff and that should be the norm for now as I am on small private clients. Small private clients of course means not long extensive hours during busy season. Heidi is off in Utah for another one of her showers. She has been substituting but is still hoping to find a full-time job. She always put in papers to get certified in sign language. She takes a test in November and December. She is practicing by going to the deaf ward in Houston. She is considering moving her records there as they need her and always ask her to translate what members say. I have gotten one cold and my body is fighting another one off. Blah. I am excited to go to Kevin's farewell, but sad to see him go in less than 15 day. I am going to miss him. However, I am excited to see how the Spirit changes him. I can see the influence already in the last four months. What a blessing. I am going to the endowment session tomorrow for someone in my Stake going on a mission. I am excited. | | |
| Well, I can't wait till Heidi comes back from her vacation in California. We are going to see the play Wicked in Austin next Thursday and then coming back to Houston. I have an appt with the Stake President tomorrow regarding receiving sealing clearance for Heidi. Meredith sent the required letter and as far as I know everything is a go. I will be sure and ask him how long it will take. Right now I am watching an old Batman video with the joker. It is definitely from the 80s because they are wearing big glasses with poofy hair. Yikes! Someone was saying that the big glasses is coming back. Speaking of which, I do need some sunglasses. Heidi and I registered and Target. It is somewhat difficult because my house is decorated quite a bit, so Heidi can't start from scratch. I think the decorations have a nice touch. Whether or not that is Heidi material, I don't know. | | |
| Well, I have just a little time before I go home teaching. Someone canceled on me, so we will see what I can get done. Heidi and I are engaged. George is helping me get the ring. We will see if everything will be ready so I can officially propose and give her the ring this weekend while we are in Austin. Heidi had her going away party last night and is driving down with all of her stuff on Wednesday afternoon. She and her roomates will crash at my house on Thursday and drive to Austin on Friday. I am excited she is finally coming down. She is headed back to California for two weeks after that and then returning to Houston. Still no word on the sealing clearance. I feel sorry that she has to keep quiet when her friends ask about the date of the wedding. We are waiting for a letter from Meredith stating her feelings on the additional sealing. We will give it another week and then have President call her. I still find that it is crazy that the First Presidency have to review all of the temple divorces/ additional sealings on a regular basis. It definitely is humbling. | | |
| Well, Heidi came and met all of my brothers and sisters, family, and friends this week. Hopefully she made a good impression. I definitely have grown to love her and will miss her when she goes back. There are still a few things I need to figure out and more face time. However, I would say that overall it definitely was a favorable visit. I was able to visit California for a week, Utah for a week, and Texas. She survived the Wideman family games and still came away with a smile. I have to go to work next week and am not sure how that will work. We will see. What do you all think of her? You can send me emails or post here if it is favorable. | | |
| You've come so far You've come so far,And yet you do not know,How your heart has grown,Your eyes come aglow. All those long hard hours,Those restless nights,Those arduous prayers,Uncertainty and fright. Has paid you dividends,Glorified your name,Shown that an imperfect family,Can change just the same. Thank you for your dedication, Your example and love,Not giving up, Drawing strength from above. Your posterity thanks you,Greets you with a kiss,Beckons you at the door,To stay, forever in eternal bliss.Happy Father's Day!! Love David | | |
